iPhone app

Building APOUL Clipboard

An iPhone app for keeping the sentences, URLs, reply templates and text fragments you reuse, ready to copy when you need them. This page covers the design thinking and what the first release includes.

What this page is

A development log, not the product page.

If you want to know what APOUL Clipboard actually does, the product page is the place. This page is about how it is being designed and what the first release covers.

Save a phrase

Reply templates, greetings, addresses, URLs, signatures — anything worth reusing.

Find it again

Categories, tags, favourites, pinning and search.

Copy it out

Pick the text and paste it into mail, a message or a post.

A deliberate limit

It does not collect your copy history on its own.

APOUL Clipboard does not watch the iPhone clipboard and quietly hoover up everything you copy. You paste or share something into it, and only what you save is stored.

How things get in

  • Type the text directly in the app
  • Paste it in
  • Send it from the share menu in Safari, Mail and so on

What not to keep here

Passwords, private keys and credit card numbers belong in a dedicated password manager, not in this app. It is not built to hold that kind of secret.

What the first release covers.

First release
The design centres on saving text, categories, tags, favourites, pinning, search and one-tap copy.
